    We are currently looking for a locally based break/fix technician/contractor with an advanced knowledge and skill set  for a position as the Preferred Field Engineer for a customer account. The ideal candidate would possess strong communication and troubleshooting skills.

     

    Qualified candidates will go through three remote interviews. In the event that you are selected, you will be invited to attend an all-expense inclusive, hands-on training session in Boston, MA, consisting of 2 full days of both classroom and practical instruction on break/fix and FRU parts replacement procedures with introduction to system installation.

     

    **All travel and related expenses are included for candidates attending the training session. In addition, candidates will be paid for their time.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    The Preferred FE for customer sites will be responsible for going to site to troubleshoot customer issues, as well as to provide second level hardware support and replacement services in a data center environment using fundamental and out of band system diagnostic tools and techniques.



    Qualifications

     
    Required Qualifications:

    • Must have some experience with Linux.
    • Must have some understanding of TCP/IP concepts.
    • Must have Basic storage understanding SAN, NAS.
    • Must possess cable management skills.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
    • Must be familiar with using Command Line Interface (CLI).
    • Must be able to connect laptop to system serial interface.
    • Must be familiar with RAID.
    • Must have customer support experience in a data center environment.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
    • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check going back 7 years.
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
    • Must speak English clearly, fluently.

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • A+ Certification.
    • Associate degree or 2 years’ experience in field/customer based position.
    • Previous military experience in an electronics related field a plus.
    • Excellent customer service skills and a desire to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Able or organize, prioritize, and schedule assignments in accordance with client service level agreements (SLA) and service guidelines.
    • Ability to follow documented instruction on processes and procedures.
    • Ability to document and maintain accurate time and mileage records.
